RFID Attendance Management System: Turnstiles & Payroll

In large Indian manufacturing plants, corporate IT parks, call centers, and logistics hubs, thousands of workers enter facilities during tight 15-minute shift change windows. Conventional biometric fingerprint and facial recognition terminals create severe queue bottlenecks, processing only 10 to 15 people per minute per lane. Our RFID Attendance Management System accelerates throughput to over 45 to 60 persons per minute using high-speed optical turnstiles, smart flap barriers, and long-range UHF walk-through portals. Employees simply tap or walk past readers with their smart ID cards, registering verified check-ins in under 200 milliseconds.

We deploy two primary hardware architectures tailored to site security requirements: (1) High-Frequency (HF 13.56 MHz Mifare/DESFire): The gold standard for corporate office lobbies and turnstiles, requiring intentional 2–5 cm card taps with encrypted cryptographic handshakes that prevent card cloning; (2) Ultra-High Frequency (UHF 865–867 MHz Long-Range Gates): Ideal for factory plant gates, construction sites, and contractor mobilization yards, where overhead circular antennas automatically detect wearable UHF badges at 2 to 4 meters as groups of workers walk through without breaking stride.

While biometric systems eliminate proxy punching by verifying biological traits, they suffer from high failure-to-acquire rates with industrial workers (grease, dirt, worn fingerprints) and slow throughput. RFID attendance delivers 10x faster throughput and zero contact wear. To eliminate proxy punching (buddy punching) in RFID setups, our system incorporates: (1) Multi-zone Anti-Passback (APB) that locks out cards tapped twice consecutively without an exit swipe; (2) Infrared optical passage sensors on turnstiles that verify one physical body per card tap; (3) Integrated CCTV snapshot capture linked directly to each swipe record for rapid supervisor audit.

Managing contract labor compliance across multiple vendor agencies requires real-time shift duration tracking, overtime calculations, and minimum wage muster roll reconciliation. Our edge middleware normalizes attendance records and syncs directly with major ERP and HRMS software, including Tally Prime, Zoho People, Darwinbox, GreytHR, SAP SuccessFactors, and custom SQL databases, eliminating manual timesheet entry and audit disputes.
