Developer Integration Kit

Hardware SDK & Edge API Quickstart

Connect, configure RF power (10–33 dBm), and stream tag inventory to your ERP / backend in under 5 minutes.

Protocol
LLRP / RS-232 / REST
Read Rate
Up to 750 tags/sec
💡
Why this matters to your business: You are not locked into proprietary software. Our open integration drivers allow your internal IT team or ERP vendor (SAP, Tally, Zoho, Oracle) to directly ingest live RFID scans without expensive recurring middleware licensing fees.

Hardware wiring specifications for connecting Impinj Speedway R700 / R420 IoT Gateway Middleware | Octane SDK & MQTT directly to optical photocell sensors, light stacks, and Siemens / Allen-Bradley PLCs.

4 Opto Inputs 4 Relay Outputs
💡
How Factory Automation Works (In Plain English):

Instead of keeping the RFID scanner running 24/7 (which overheats equipment and reads distant tags accidentally), a physical light beam sensor (photocell) tells the reader to scan only when a box arrives on the conveyor belt. If the box has a missing or wrong tag, the reader instantly trips a red light and signals a robotic arm or pneumatic pusher to divert the box.

10-Pin Screw Terminal Pinout 2.5 kV Galvanic Isolation
PIN 1: GPI-1 (+)
Photocell Sensor Trigger (5–24V DC)
PIN 2: GPI-1 (-)
Isolated Ground Reference
PIN 5: GPO-1 (NO)
Green Light Stack Relay (Max 30V/1A)
PIN 6: GPO-2 (NO)
Red Siren / Diverter Ejector Relay
PINS 9 & 10: AUX +24V DC / GND
Internal auxiliary power output for powering proximity sensors
Conveyor Trigger Logic Workflow
  1. 1 Optical Beam Cut: Carton cuts photocell beam → GPI-1 transitions from 0V to +24V HIGH.
  2. 2 1,500ms Active Scan: Reader powers RF antenna array (30 dBm) and captures all tag EPCs inside the carton.
  3. 3 ERP Validation: If carton count matches ERP manifest, GPO-1 pulses for 200ms (Green Light / Belt Continues).
  4. 4 Defect Ejection: If tag count is incomplete, GPO-2 triggers pneumatic diverter to route carton to audit lane.
⚡ Cycle Execution Time: < 45 milliseconds

Questions

How does the middleware determine if a forklift is entering or leaving the warehouse?
By pairing 4 antennas in a sequenced firing order and analyzing the RF phase angle (Doppler effect) and RSSI signal slope, the directional algorithm calculates the motion vector in real-time.
