Description

The NXP UCODE 9 Compact UHF RFID Wet Inlay 44x18mm (Model: U9-4216-1000) is a high-sensitivity RAIN RFID tag engineered for high-density retail inventory, supply chain packaging, logistics cartons, and item-level asset tracking. Built around the industry-leading NXP UCODE 9 silicon integrated circuit, this inlay complies fully with EPCglobal Gen2v2 and ISO/IEC 18000-63 (RAIN RFID) standards, delivering industry-leading read sensitivity of -24 dBm and write sensitivity of -22 dBm.

1. Chip Architecture & Auto-Adjust RF Performance

Operating across the global UHF frequency band (860 MHz to 960 MHz, including the Indian WPC 865–867 MHz allocation), the UCODE 9 chip incorporates NXP's proprietary Self-Adjust (Auto-Adjust) technology. This dynamically optimizes the chip's internal impedance in real-time to counteract dielectric detuning caused by surrounding packaging materials. Despite its compact 44 mm × 18 mm die-cut footprint (42 mm × 16 mm etched aluminum antenna), the inlay delivers a powerful read distance of up to 6.0 to 10.0 meters when scanned with fixed overhead portal readers and 3.0 to 6.0 meters with Android handheld readers.

2. High-Speed Bulk Encoding & Auburn ARC Compliance

The UCODE 9 chip features 96 bits of EPC memory and a 96-bit Tag Identifier (TID) with a factory-locked 48-bit unique serial number. It supports ultra-fast parallel encoding throughput exceeding 9,000 tags per minute on industrial RFID thermal printers (such as the Zebra ZT411 and SATO CL4NX Plus). The inlay complies with Auburn University RFID Lab ARC performance categories (Category A, B, C, I, and Q), making it fully approved for global retail supplier mandates at Walmart, Target, Decathlon, and Home Depot.

Questions

What is the advantage of NXP UCODE 9 Self-Adjust technology in warehouse inventory?
NXP Self-Adjust technology automatically optimizes the chip internal RF input impedance when the tag is placed near challenging substrates like paperboard stacks, textiles, or plastics. This eliminates dead zones and maintains consistent 99%+ read rates even in dense carton stacking.
Is this 44x18mm UCODE 9 inlay certified for Walmart and global retail RFID mandates?
Yes. Inlays built with the NXP UCODE 9 chip on this antenna footprint meet Auburn University RFID Lab ARC performance categories (including Category A, B, C, I, and Q), satisfying the mandatory vendor tagging guidelines for Walmart USA, Target, and Macy's.
Can this inlay be printed and encoded on Zebra ZT411 or SATO CL4NX printers?
Yes. The U9-4216 inlay roll is fully calibrated for industrial thermal transfer RFID printers including Zebra ZT411R, ZD621R, SATO CL4NX Plus, and Printronix T6000e for simultaneous high-speed 1D/2D barcode printing and EPC encoding.
What is the HSN Code and GST rate for purchasing UHF RFID inlays in India?
UHF RFID inlays and smart labels in India are classified under HSN Code 8523 with an 18% GST rate. RFID Softwares provides B2B tax invoices with full input tax credit (ITC) eligibility.
Can this tag be applied directly to metal containers or steel racks?
No. Standard UHF wet inlays cannot be affixed directly onto metal surfaces because metal reflects and shorts the electromagnetic field. For metallic assets, an on-metal RFID tag featuring a specialized ferrite spacer must be used.
