The NXP UCODE 9 Compact UHF RFID Wet Inlay 44x18mm (Model: U9-4216-1000) is a high-sensitivity RAIN RFID tag engineered for high-density retail inventory, supply chain packaging, logistics cartons, and item-level asset tracking. Built around the industry-leading NXP UCODE 9 silicon integrated circuit, this inlay complies fully with EPCglobal Gen2v2 and ISO/IEC 18000-63 (RAIN RFID) standards, delivering industry-leading read sensitivity of -24 dBm and write sensitivity of -22 dBm.
1. Chip Architecture & Auto-Adjust RF Performance
Operating across the global UHF frequency band (860 MHz to 960 MHz, including the Indian WPC 865–867 MHz allocation), the UCODE 9 chip incorporates NXP's proprietary Self-Adjust (Auto-Adjust) technology. This dynamically optimizes the chip's internal impedance in real-time to counteract dielectric detuning caused by surrounding packaging materials. Despite its compact 44 mm × 18 mm die-cut footprint (42 mm × 16 mm etched aluminum antenna), the inlay delivers a powerful read distance of up to 6.0 to 10.0 meters when scanned with fixed overhead portal readers and 3.0 to 6.0 meters with Android handheld readers.
2. High-Speed Bulk Encoding & Auburn ARC Compliance
The UCODE 9 chip features 96 bits of EPC memory and a 96-bit Tag Identifier (TID) with a factory-locked 48-bit unique serial number. It supports ultra-fast parallel encoding throughput exceeding 9,000 tags per minute on industrial RFID thermal printers (such as the Zebra ZT411 and SATO CL4NX Plus). The inlay complies with Auburn University RFID Lab ARC performance categories (Category A, B, C, I, and Q), making it fully approved for global retail supplier mandates at Walmart, Target, Decathlon, and Home Depot.
