The NXP U8 Heavy-Duty RFID Cable Tie Tag 92x28mm (Model: U8-TIE-9228) is a tamper-evident, zip-tie encapsulated RAIN RFID transponder engineered for tracking industrial cable bundles, oil & gas valve inspections, fire extinguisher maintenance, gas cylinders, scaffolding certification, and electrical utility infrastructure. Powered by the NXP UCODE 8 silicon IC, this tag integrates a high-strength self-locking nylon cable tie that physically fastens around curved, irregular, or metallic objects that cannot accommodate adhesive labels or screws.

1. Tamper-Evident Self-Locking Mechanism & RF Performance

The tag features an integrated 280 mm heavy-duty nylon 66 zip-tie tail with internal one-way ratchet teeth and a stainless-steel locking barb that permanently locks once inserted. Once tightened, the tag cannot be removed without physically severing the cable tie, providing immediate visual and digital proof of tamper-evident inspection compliance. Operating across 860 MHz to 960 MHz (tuned for Indian WPC 865–867 MHz), NXP UCODE 8's -23 dBm sensitivity delivers a read range of 4.0 to 8.0 meters.

Encapsulated in an IP67 weatherproof, UV-stabilized polyamide polymer casing, the tag resists UV sunlight, chemical splashes, hydraulic fluids, and extreme thermal cycling from -35°C to +85°C. Fully compliant with EPCglobal Gen2v2 and ISO/IEC 18000-63, it features 128-bit EPC memory and 96-bit unique factory TID for serialized asset management.
