Description

The NXP UCODE 9 Jewellery RFID Flag Label 96x23mm (Model: U9-JWL-9623) is an ultra-high-precision RAIN RFID tag engineered specifically for luxury jewellery showrooms, gold and diamond vaults, retail display trays, optical eyewear, and luxury watch inventory. Powered by the NXP UCODE 9 silicon IC, this label features a specialized "flag / tail" geometry with a non-adhesive middle loop that wraps securely around delicate rings, necklaces, and bangles without leaving sticky chemical residue on precious metals or gemstones.

1. Flag Antenna Architecture & Dense Tray Readability

Traditional RFID tags detune when in close contact with gold, silver, platinum, or metallic display trays. The U9-JWL-9623 overcomes this by elevating the folded dipole antenna into a 23mm × 14mm flag element that stands clear of the metal jewellery piece. Operating across the 860–960 MHz band (optimized for Indian WPC 865–867 MHz), it provides a read distance of 1.5 to 3.5 meters, enabling staff to conduct 100% accurate stock-take audits of dense velvet display trays containing 100+ tagged gold rings in under 3 seconds using handheld wands or smart RFID countertop trays.

2. Tamper-Evident Security & Thermal Transfer Printing

The printable flag head is crafted from high-opacity, tear-resistant white PET film compatible with thermal transfer barcode printers (Zebra ZD621R, SATO CL4NX). The tail features security perforation slits that fracture upon removal, preventing tag swapping and retail shrinkage. Fully compliant with EPCglobal Gen2v2 and ISO 18000-63, it integrates 96-bit EPC memory and 96-bit factory-locked unique TID.

Questions

Will the adhesive on this jewelry tag leave sticky residue on gold or diamond jewelry?
No. The U9-JWL-9623 is engineered with a completely glue-free middle tail section. The adhesive is restricted exclusively to the foldable flag head. When wrapped around a ring or necklace, only the non-adhesive tail touches the precious metal, leaving zero residue.
How fast can a retail jewelry store complete a physical inventory audit using this tag?
By placing a smart RFID tray pad under a display tray or waving a UHF handheld reader over the showcase, a showroom associate can audit 100+ tagged gold and diamond items in 2 to 3 seconds with 99.9% accuracy, replacing hours of manual piece counting.
What happens if a customer or staff member tries to remove the tag?
The flag head features tamper-evident micro-perforations. If someone attempts to peel open the flag or cut the tail to swap price tags, the antenna loop fractures permanently, rendering the tag dead and triggering security discrepancy alerts.
What printer is recommended for printing barcode and pricing data on this tag?
A high-resolution 300 DPI RFID desktop or industrial printer (such as the Zebra ZD621R, Zebra ZT411, or SATO CL4NX Plus) using high-grade resin thermal transfer ribbon is recommended for crisp micro-barcodes and text.
What is the GST rate and HSN code for jewelry RFID tags in India?
Jewelry RFID tags are classified under HSN Code 8523 with an 18% GST rate. RFID Softwares provides full GST tax invoices for jewelry retail chains across Mumbai (Zaveri Bazaar), Surat, Delhi NCR, Jaipur, and Chennai.
