Description

The NXP U8 Washable Polyester UHF RFID Laundry Tag 70x15mm (Model: U8-TEX-7015) is an ultra-durable, flexible textile tracking transponder engineered specifically for industrial commercial laundries, five-star hotel linen management, hospital scrub sterilization, and workwear garment rental services. Powered by the NXP UCODE 8 silicon IC, this tag is designed to withstand the harsh mechanical, thermal, and chemical rigors of heavy-duty commercial laundering, including high-pressure water extraction presses up to 60 bar, tunnel washers, flatwork ironers (up to 200°C), and chemical dry cleaning.

1. Robust Textile Encapsulation & RF Physics

Constructed from 100% medical-grade, soft-touch woven polyester with an embedded stainless-steel thread / flexible conductive wire antenna, the tag has a slim 70 mm × 15 mm × 1.4 mm profile that can be stitched into garment hems or heat-sealed into linen pockets without causing skin irritation. Operating across the global 860 MHz to 960 MHz RAIN RFID band (tuned for Indian WPC 865–867 MHz), the high-sensitivity NXP UCODE 8 chip (-23 dBm) provides an impressive bulk read range of 4.0 to 7.0 meters, allowing laundry operators to scan hundreds of soiled hospital bedsheets or hotel towels inside sealed laundry carts in under 3 seconds.

2. Extreme Wash Cycle Durability & Hospital Sterilization Compliance

Rated for 200+ industrial wash and dry cycles, the tag resists chlorine bleach, caustic alkalis, hydrogen peroxide detergents, and high-pressure steam autoclaves (134°C for 20 minutes). It is non-magnetic and MR Safe, making it fully certified for healthcare environments with MRI diagnostic equipment. Fully compliant with EPCglobal Gen2v2 and ISO/IEC 18000-63, it features 128-bit EPC memory and 96-bit unique TID.

Questions

How many commercial laundry wash cycles can this tag withstand?
The U8-TEX-7015 is lab-tested and rated for over 200 industrial wash cycles, including high-pressure water extraction presses (up to 60 bar), continuous tunnel washers, heavy-duty gas tumble dryers, and flatwork ironer rollers up to 200°C.
Can this laundry tag be scanned in bulk while linens are inside laundry carts?
Yes. The high-sensitivity NXP UCODE 8 chip and multi-directional antenna allow fixed portal antennas (like the Zebra FX9600) to read 300+ tagged linens, scrubs, or towels inside a rolling canvas/metal laundry cart in under 3 seconds without unpacking.
Is this tag safe for hospital bedsheets and patient scrubs used near MRI machines?
Yes. The tag is constructed without ferromagnetic metals, making it non-magnetic and MR Safe for hospital healthcare environments, patient linens, and surgical scrub inventory.
What installation methods are recommended for attaching the tag to garments?
The tag can be sewn directly into hemmed seams, attached with heat-seal adhesive patches using a thermal heat press machine (200°C for 12 seconds), or inserted inside a dedicated fabric pouch.
What is the HSN Code and GST rate for textile RFID laundry tags in India?
Textile laundry tags fall under HSN Code 8523 with an 18% GST rate. RFID Softwares provides full GST tax invoices for commercial laundry facilities, hospital networks, and hotel chains across India.
