This engineer develops the embedded software brain powering smart radio scanners for Impinj, ensuring reader hardware instantly and accurately decodes hundreds of simultaneous tag signals on fast-moving conveyor lines.
As Senior Software Engineer at Impinj, you will focus on RAIN / UHF RFID Protocols, RFID Readers & Firmware, directly supporting high-throughput supply chain tracking, automated item identification, and next-generation wireless IoT infrastructure.
⚙️ Key Responsibilities & Core Tasks
• You will be joining the RAIN RFID Reader Platform team where you will get to work on Firmware for ARM 64/32 bit Processors that will be used in our future RFID Reader models. The RFID Reader Platform team works closely with cross-functional teams, including Hardware, RF Modem, Cloud, and QA, to ensure seamless end-to-end enterprise solutions. • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software on ARM 64/32 bit processors and microcontrollers – from early bootloaders to modern C/C++ Linux applications. • Own key aspects of new hardware platform bring-up, including driver development, peripheral integration, and board-level diagnostics. • Contribute to architecture and design reviews, ensuring code quality and software scalability. • Optimize code for performance, memory usage, and power consumption in resource-constrained environments.
