Questions

What free software and SDKs are bundled with this 13.56MHz reader/writer?
The package includes our complete Windows Desktop Tag Encoding Suite, which allows you to read/write memory blocks, configure access keys, toggle EAS theft-prevention flags, and perform batch file operations. We also provide complete source code examples in C# .NET 8, C++, Python 3, and Java.
How does this device integrate with Koha and library management systems?
This device supports ISO 15693 RFID standards used by Koha, NewGenLib, and international library protocols. Catalogers can place a book on the desktop pad to automatically read the I-Code SLI UID, write the accession number into User Memory, and arm/disarm the EAS theft-prevention bit in one click.
Can this device toggle the EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) security bit on I-Code SLI tags?
Yes. Full command-level support for ISO 15693 EAS set and reset commands is built directly into both the bundled Windows GUI utility and the developer SDK.
What is the difference between ISO 14443A and ISO 15693 protocols?
ISO 14443A (Mifare, NFC) is designed for high data security and short reading range (0 to 5 cm), ideal for transit, access control, and electronic wallets. ISO 15693 (I-Code SLI, Tag-it) is designed for vicinity reading with a longer range (up to 10–15 cm), ideal for library books, laundry inlays, and pharmaceutical tracking. This reader/writer supports both protocols.
Can this reader/writer connect directly to industrial PLCs via RS-232?
Yes. In addition to USB, it provides a native RS-232 serial interface (DB9 port) supporting standard ASCII/Hex polling and autonomous reporting protocols compatible with Siemens, Omron, and Delta industrial PLCs.
