Delhi NCR Footwear Showroom RFID Smart Display Shelves

A luxury footwear brand with retail outlets in Delhi NCR faced a persistent problem: display shoes on shelves were often missing matching sizes in the backstock, leading to lost sales when customers had to wait for staff to search the warehouse. Checking which styles and sizes were present on display was a slow, manual task. The brand required a smart display solution that would automatically alert staff if a display model was missing its corresponding stock size in the back room.

RFID Softwares designed a smart display shelf system. We fitted every shoe pair with thin [UHF RFID Inlay Tags](/products/rfid-solutions/uhf-inlay-labels/) (PRD_HW_UHF_INLAY) hidden inside the insoles. We then installed custom-crafted wooden display shelves with integrated UHF reader antennas mounted directly underneath each shelf tier. These antennas continuously scan the shelf surfaces to verify which shoes are currently on display. When a customer picks up a shoe, the system instantly logs the action and displays matching size availability on an adjacent tablet screen.

The display shelves are connected to the main retail server using low-profile coax cables. At the receiving counter, a [UHF Desktop Reader](/products/rfid-solutions/uhf-desktop-rfid-reader-writer/) (PRD_HW_UHF_DESKTOP) is used to scan new inventory and encode size/color parameters onto the insole tags. The antenna power is calibrated so that reads are strictly confined to the shelf surface, avoiding cross-reads of shoes carried by customers in the aisle.

The RFID smart display layout eliminated stock search times, letting clerks check size availability instantly from their tablets. Out-of-stock cancellations on display models decreased to zero. The interactive display tablet engaged customers, leading to a 30% increase in brand satisfaction scores and a 20% growth in retail turnover at the Noida showroom.
